Founded at IIT Delhi in 2020, Edna BioLabs produces specialty enzymes for the Indian and global market. Our initial product offering includes enzymes in the molecular biology and mass spectrometry segments, as well as derivative products including kits and reagent mixes. Our founding team has leveraged years of experience in biomolecule production in top universities (IIT Delhi, ICT Mumbai) and leading companies (Biocon, Syngene, Intas) to launch Edna as a commercial venture, guided by our Scientific Advisor Prof. Anurag S. Rathore, Co-ordinator of the DBT Centre of Excellence for Biopharmaceutical Technology.

 

Our enzymes are recombinantly produced and purified using a state-of-the-art purification train consisting of multiple chromatography and filtration steps in series. Each enzyme vial from Edna is guaranteed to have equal or better activity and purity compared to those from top international companies including New England Biolabs, Thermo Scientific, and Takara Bio. We are also currently the only Indian manufacturers of specialty mass spectrometry enzymes. With fast distribution channels across the country and exceptional value for price, we hope to become the brand of choice for specialty enzymes for academic research and industrial labs in India.

Having personally experienced the difficulties and expense involved in procuring high quality enzymes and reagents for our research, we are determined to make a difference in the Indian market by providing top-quality specialty enzymes at an affordable price to both academic and industrial research labs. We hope to ultimately enter the diagnostics segment, as specialty enzymes are critical reagents in many IVD testing and biomarker detection kits and are currently majorly imported from USA, Europe and China. We believe that the availability of high-quality domestic enzymes will help improve affordability and accessibility to diagnostics information for Indians across the country
