Product Description

Pfu DNA Polymerase is a thermostable DNA polymerase that has 5´→ 3´ polymerase activity and 5´ flap endonuclease activity. The enzyme also exhibits 3´→5´ exonuclease (proofreading) activity.  Base misinsertions are rapidly removed by the polymerase, making it a good option for applications where high-fidelity error-free synthesis is required.  Edna Pfu products are recombinantly produced in E. coli and thus are highly pure and offer robust and reliable PCR activity.

Unit Definition: One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme required to catalyze the incorporation of 10 nanomoles of dNTPs into acid insoluble material in 30 minutes at 75°C.

Molecular Weight: 92 kDa

Activity: 5'-3' exonuclease (not 3'-5') resulting in single-base 3' overhangs. The enzyme also exhibits 3´→ 5´ exonuclease (proofreading) activity.
